Blu's Life Channel Update

It has become clear with the struggles of the past few weeks that producing a video weekly maybe more than I can accomplish so....
Of course there is also the fact that I first uploaded a video to YouTube July 26, 2023. This means I have been doing this for 6 months. It isn't profitable. In fact there is zero dollars coming in. The average view time according to YouTube is about 3 minutes which is less than any video's actual length and I have some that are only about 5 minutes long. The views have dropped from 96 when it first started to 38 recently. The video which has received the most views overall is Episode 6: The Abduction. The original upload of this video received 28 views. I re-uploaded because I was informed the sound was too soft to hear. The new upload has received 1 view. The strange thing is that after I uploaded it with increased sound volume the original sound volume increased which lead me to determine it wasn't the sound volume but Youtube's handling of sound.
My avid supporters are my ex-husband and my son. My ex told me he watches it because I did it. That is just the sweetest thing. Let's not get into why we are divorced. He has been very good to both my son and I over the years and I am very thankful.
So with this information I have to consider to continue on a hobby perspective basis or to quit entirely. There is also the option of switching games.
Knowing all this can lead one to be depressed because on one hand it says, 'You suck!' That is hard on anyone's ego. I never expected to have umpteen million views and I often think that my work isn't that good. The story line often seems weak to me though I still struggle through.
Does this mean I won't upload episode 16? I will. I have too much work into it not to. Will there be a seventeen? I think perhaps I will do a conclusion video but it may be two weeks after episode 16 is uploaded. After that I will decide if I am going to continue with Sims 4 or another game or quit altogether.
It has given me something to do which is a major reason I started. I have to look at the fact that my rig seriously needs updated if I do continue. There aren't funds for that and even though I keep trying to save there is always something that comes up.
Things like the plumbing needs fixed or a vehicle needs repairs. I'm grateful that the money was in saving for these things but I would like to be able to have money in savings to do not only these things but also to purchase upgrades for equipment and software.
Currently, we live in 'interesting times'. I think I miss the 70's.
Thoughts? No, I knew you wouldn't. On Blogger I may get 2 views if any on anyone post. I read that I should try WordPress but that costs money and money isn't something I can justify spending on something that doesn't pay.
It was my hope that Rumble would bring in funds since YouTube practices unfair and unlawful business practices by keeping 75 to 100 percent of the profits. If you ever take business law you will learn that is an illegal contract. Unfortunately, our Congress has their heads up their asses and their hands in the till so they aren't going to help out the common man.
It has been a learning experience so I'm thankful for that. Trying to get video clips to fit with sound clips has been interesting to say the least. A nice thing is that I can adjust the story line to fill out audio clips if necessary though there are times when I go back into the game and rerecord a clip. This is often very trying since sims are as cooperative as pigs on a hot summer day.
When I was a kid I remember my Father trying to load a pig into the trailer to take it to the sale. It looked up at him from its comfortable position in the mud but it didn't budge. When you have a pig that weighs 600 lbs and is covered in wet mud it isn't that easy to get it to move.
Of course my son said, 'Turn off autonomy'. Well, that is nice in theory but EA in their infinite wisdom has made that optional for sims. The button is there and you can click and apply but sims... Their little digital brains are laughing at you and planning rebellion.
I researched the average time for a Youtube channel to gain followers. An article I found stated that it takes a year to gain 1000 followers and 61 days to gain 100. I have faithfully uploaded weekly and I have chosen a game which is very popular so it must be my content people find uninteresting.
My son has posed the question; 'What are you in it for?' He quoted one of his favorite Youtuber's who stated that you don't start a Youtube channel for money. You have to do it because you enjoy it.
I have mixed feelings. I didn't start it to 'make' money though I did expect to at least gain followers and likes. I have 5 followers and I am grateful for them though I can say I personally know each one of them. It makes my heart glad that they were willing to subscribe. Two of them subscribed sight unseen for my videos just to lend support. I still don't know that they have ever watched any of my videos but still I appreciate them.
My ex states that the story line isn't something he really is interested in. He loves sci-fi and the Sims has some sci-fi components but it isn't sci-fi unless you count EA's idea that the game was released as a viable finished product. Oh, that's just fiction.
I will try to upload episode 16 tomorrow as I'm still working on editing it tonight.
So for all of my two viewers if any thank you. I appreciate you very much. I hope all of you have a great day, a better week and an even better weekend.
